The newly refurbished Aberystwyth Market Hall was officially opened on Friday, 14th June by Welsh Government’s Housing and Regeneration Minister, Carl Sargeant AM. The Market Hall, operated by Ceredigion County Council, will provide 14 retail units for local traders (two of which are double units) and four external incubator units for budding entrepreneurs and to encourage new business start-ups.

Councillor Gareth Lloyd, Ceredigion Cabinet member with responsibility for Economic Development said: “This is another fine example of how Aberystwyth  has benefitted from its Regeneration Area status.  The area around the current Market Hall has been a part of Aberystwyth life for centuries and the new facilities bring the building up to a standard fit for its current purpose.  I hope that the people of Ceredigion will support the traders at this new facility.”   Produce on sale will range from home baked cakes to oriental clothes and textiles.
